Reef Diving – San Pedro, Caye Caulker, Placencia
Along the entire length of Ambergris Caye the reef is comprised of spectacular three dimensional coral formations which include canyons, grottoes and tunnels. All accessed by a little boat ride which is 15 minutes approximately.
Caye Caulker Marine Reserve and its surroundings offer some of the most natural diving in the area. It features a beautiful, healthy reef with numerous amounts of live corals and juvenile fishes. Plus, there have been some remarkable encounters with hammerhead, turtles, and other shy species.
Most of the inner reef dive sites are at or around Laughing Bird Caye which is a National Park and World Heritage Site. This beautiful and unique caye is located eleven nautical miles east of Placencia. To get there, the boat ride takes about 30 minutes which is worth the time to see some of the most beautiful dive sites in Southern Belize.
